Cob Cottage lies at the entrance to Martnaham nature reserve – a two mile long loch – a stretch of water which is a haven for swans and wildfowl – fringed on one shore by one of the last remaining oak woods in south west Scotland.
Cob Cottage once greeted visiting carriages from Culzean Castle, home of the Marquess of Ailsa who enjoyed bringing picnic parties to this far flung corner of his estate.
The current owners, whose family have lived on the site for over 100 years, created the comfortable retreat you find today.
Recently renovated with new furnishings, antiques and art with top quality beds and mod cons, including a sound system for a romantic sound track to your Scottish escape. The cottage with its own securely enclosed outside space, including decking and hot tub, faces south to catch the sun with panoramic views to the hills beyond. The well insulated cottage also benefits from oil fired central heating and a cosy wood burning stove. The cottage is close to local shops and other facilities being just off the B742 near the village of Coylton.
Cob cottage is dog friendly. The garden is fenced in and has plenty of space for your furry four-legged friend.
